The Arlo Adventure Truly Begins

Arlo has now officially come into his own. His personality is fully out. He is a very curious, stubborn, but very smart boy.

Yesterday, I came home from work. My husband wasn’t home yet and my boys were out Christmas shopping. Arlo met me at the door as usual, tail waging, no, correction, whole body waging with happiness. The first thing I notice is that the gate keeping him in the kitchen has been slid to the side. Arlo had figured out how to operate the gate. Oh boy. I reluctantly walk to the living room, expecting the worst but hoping for the best.

The ottoman was pushed up against the Christmas tree. The pillow and blanket were no longer on the couch (the couch he knows he isn’t allowed on). They now resided on the floor. The blanket and cover from his love seat were also on the floor. Not so bad. He must of had the zoomies, nothing destroyed. Then I noticed it, a piece of medium blue plastic inside his blanket. I picked up the blanket and shook it. More pieces of plastic fell out. The realization as to what he had done quickly entered my brain. I let out a chuckle. “Arlo, you are too smart for your own good.” Every morning Arlo gets a treat that doubles as a teeth cleaner. He loves them and always begs for another before he sadly realizes he only gets one. Only then will he eat his breakfast. They come in a medium blue bag which I had been keeping on the kitchen counter. Mister long legs and extending neck figured out that he can grab them and helped himself to the last 3 in the bag.

Needless to say, those are no longer kept on the kitchen counter. I might have to invest in a treat dispenser for him…
